Black and White

speaking should be reserved
for the less clumsy
for the polite
the noiseless
and the clutter-free

for those people capable
of eating spaghetti
the chosen few
who's words flow
like streams, sunsets and trees
and who dream of things like these

words should not be wasted
on the nervous
the nocturnal
or the nut cases
they clatter through life
tuned to black and white

defining themselves
in a half-formed sketch
a hand clap hello
and a colourless gesture
they are the centrepiece
in their cartoon theatre
